The shoot took place at Nupur’s home in Ahmedabad, which had been recently refurbished for the wedding. The living room, decorated in the signature style of designer Sabyasachi, provided the perfect setting. Nupur shares, "My mother, sister, and I are all ardent Sabyasachi fans, so we knew the look we wanted. The living room walls were painted burgundy, cream, and burgundy-based toile de jouy curtains were brought from the USA, and the furniture was sourced from Good Earth in Mumbai."

Inspired by the idea of getting family portraits done without the rush of wedding day preparations, Nupur decided to do this shoot after seeing photos of Wedding Sutra on Location and observing the hectic nature of weddings she had attended. "At weddings, the bride’s parents are often busy with preparations, leaving little time for family portraits. My mother and I decided to get our family photos taken before the wedding to avoid this issue," she explains.

For the shoot, Nupur got ready exactly as she had planned for her wedding day, using it as a dress, makeup, and hair rehearsal. She realized practical details, such as the fit of her garment, comfort of her footwear, and how to wear her jewelry. "Wearing all the bridal fineries helped me determine the length of my emerald strings, the height of my maatha pati, and how long I could wear heavy earrings. The actual trial made everything very visual before the big day."

Nupur’s family also benefited from the dress rehearsal. Her father finalized his outfit choice, and although her mother and sister's new wedding clothes hadn't arrived in time, they wore their own bridal outfits instead. Nupur's sister, who married six years ago, wore her Sabyasachi bridal outfit, and their mother wore her carefully preserved 36-year-old bridal attire, creating a special moment with three 'brides' in the setting.
