“The pre-wedding shoot results exceeded all our expectations! Our photographer and good friend Naman did an amazing job. We’d actually decided to take a trip to Ladakh before the wedding and realized that the only way that would happen was if we planned a pre-wedding shoot around it. We had no intention of having a grand shoot, and I started making plans with Naman. It was the perfect scenario because you are going to Ladakh with the love of your life and your best friend, so it was bound to be fun! We started with plans for a 4-day trip and casual clothes, which ended up being a 9-day trip with more than 70 kgs of clothes. We packed our bags and set out for the trip of our lifetime! It was the best trip ever. There were actually no challenges, and the results of the shoot were far better than we’d hoped for. It was fun and easy, and we had the best food and the best time.”

For the high-altitude locations like Khardung-La Pass and Pangong Lake, layered clothing and warm jackets are necessary due to the cold weather. Bright, vibrant colors can contrast beautifully with the rugged terrain and serene backdrops. Traditional attire can add a cultural touch, especially when shooting at monasteries or historical sites. Comfortable shoes are a must, as you'll likely be walking on uneven terrain.

Do we need any special permits for a pre-wedding shoot in Leh-Ladakh?

Yes, certain areas in Leh-Ladakh require special permits, especially for non-residents. Inner Line Permits (ILP) are necessary for visiting places like Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, and Tso Moriri. Ensure your photographer and crew also have the necessary permits if they are not local residents.

How can we acclimatize to the high altitude in Leh-Ladakh?

Leh-Ladakh is situated at a high altitude, and acclimatization is crucial to avoid altitude sickness. Plan to spend the first couple of days in Leh to allow your body to adjust. Drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activities initially, and eat light meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking during the acclimatization period. Carrying medication like Diamox can help prevent altitude sickness, but consult your doctor before using it.
