Your Royal Wedding at Regenta Pushkar Fort, Pushkar – A Wedifys Planning Guide

Nestled in the foothills of the Aravalli range on the outskirts of the holy town of Pushkar, Regenta Pushkar Fort is a luxurious heritage-style resort that promises an enchanting setting for your nuptials. Part of the esteemed Royal Orchid Hotels, this property is designed to resemble a majestic Rajasthani fort – complete with grand archways, intricate jharokha balconies, and expansive courtyards that evoke the romance of a bygone era. In fact, Pushkar Fort is touted as the first desert fort resort of Rajasthan, a fully restored heritage hotel that seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern comforts.

Beyond its stunning architecture, Regenta Pushkar Fort boasts a serene, oasis-like ambiance. It spans 5 acres of landscaped grounds dotted with lush gardens and a sparkling free-form swimming pool. The location offers tranquility away from city chaos, yet it’s conveniently close to Pushkar’s famous spiritual sites – the sacred Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple are within a 5 km radius. This means your guests can soak in local culture and divine blessings without lengthy travel. As top wedding planners, Wedifys appreciates how this venue combines accessibility and authenticity: easily reachable by road (just a 3-hour drive from Jaipur) while offering an immersive Rajasthani experience for your destination wedding.

Stepping into Regenta Pushkar Fort, you and your guests are greeted with royal hospitality. The resort’s interiors are adorned with Rajasthani artwork, antique décor pieces, and elegant furnishings that make everyone feel like nobility. Yet, alongside the regal vibe, you’ll find every modern amenity – from air-conditioned comfort to high-speed Wi-Fi – ensuring a luxurious stay for international and NRI guests. It’s this unique fusion of heritage and luxury that makes Regenta Pushkar Fort stand out as an idyllic venue for a high-end destination wedding.

(Historical Note: While the resort itself was established in the early 2000s by the Rathore family, it was built to emulate a 17th-century fort. This gives you the atmosphere of a historic palace without the restrictions of an aging monument. In other words, all the beauty of history with the reliability of a modern venue!)

Venues Within the Property & Capacity

One of the greatest advantages of Regenta Pushkar Fort is the versatility of its venues. Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony for 100 or a grand reception for over a thousand guests, this property has a space that fits perfectly. As your Wedifys wedding planner, I’ll ensure we match each event to the ideal spot:

Darbar Banquet Hall:

An opulent indoor hall spanning 6,500 sq. ft., Darbar Hall is adorned with majestic chandeliers and traditional Rajasthani details. It can comfortably host up to 400 guests for a banquet-style event, making it ideal for a mid-sized reception, cocktail sangeet night, or an indoor ceremony. With air-conditioning and a pillar-less design, your guests will dine and dance in comfort while admiring the regal ambiance.

Pool Side Garden (Lawn):

The pride of Regenta Pushkar Fort is its expansive poolside lawn, 10,000 sq. ft. of open-air splendor. Lush green turf surrounds the curvaceous pool, framed by views of the Aravalli hills. This outdoor venue can accommodate very large gatherings – we’re talking up to 1,500 guests for a mega reception under the stars. (In fact, some venue listings note that with creative use of the grounds, up to 2,500 guests can be hosted in a standing buffet setup!) For full-capacity weddings, this lawn is perfect for your main wedding ceremony or reception gala. Imagine a grand mandap by the pool, or a stage for performances, with ample space for all your loved ones to witness your big day.

Kesar Hall:

A more intimate indoor space of about 1,600 sq. ft., Kesar Hall is great for smaller functions like a Mehndi ceremony, daytime events, or as a backup venue for 50–100 guests. Its warm, inviting interiors provide a cozy setting for pre-wedding rituals or even a casual indoor after-party. If you have a mid-sized guest list (~150 people), Kesar Hall, combined with adjoining courtyards, can serve as a charming setting for a welcome lunch or Haldi ceremony.

Rajwada Restaurant & Terrace:

The resort’s poolside restaurant, Rajwada, doubles as an event space for about 50–70 guests. You could host a welcome dinner or an intimate post-wedding brunch here. The al-fresco dining experience, with views of the pool and fort façade, offers a relaxed yet elegant vibe. It’s an excellent spot for smaller gatherings like a close-knit family dinner, especially for NRI families reuniting at the wedding.

In summary, Regenta Pushkar Fort offers multiple venue options on-site – from indoor halls to open lawns – allowing us at Wedifys to curate a different setting for each function. For a mid-sized wedding of around 100–200 guests, you might use the Darbar Hall or Kesar Hall (so the space feels lively and not overwhelmingly large). For a full-capacity celebration, the entire property becomes your playground: host the main events on the sprawling lawns while perhaps using the halls for parallel functions or weather contingencies. With such flexibility, you won’t have to compromise on your vision – every event, whether cozy or colossal, will have the perfect backdrop here.

Accommodation – Rooms and Guest Capacity

As a destination wedding venue, Regenta Pushkar Fort ensures your guests not only party in style but also stay in comfort. The resort features 70 luxurious rooms and suites on the property, each echoing the fort’s heritage theme while offering modern amenities. Room categories range from Haveli Rooms and Regal Heritage Rooms to Superior Suites and Rajputana Deluxe Retreats, giving your guests a variety of accommodation experiences – all equally plush and well-appointed.

For planning purposes, here’s how many guests can be housed on-site: At double occupancy (two adults per room), 70 rooms can accommodate 140 guests comfortably. Many rooms are spacious enough to add an extra bed; with such triple occupancy arrangements, you could host up to approximately 210 guests within the resort itself. This is perfect for close family and friends traveling from abroad – your NRI guests can stay together and enjoy the festivities around the clock, turning your wedding into a fun getaway for them as well.

All rooms are air-conditioned and come with modern attached baths, Wi-Fi, and 24×7 room service. Your guests will wake up to views of gardens and courtyards, really feeling like royalty. And rest assured, the Wedifys team will coordinate room allocations, check-ins, and special requests (like hampers in rooms or a personalized welcome letter) so that your loved ones feel pampered from the moment they arrive.

(Note: If your guest list exceeds the on-site capacity – for instance, in a 500 or 1000-guest wedding – Wedifys can assist in arranging overflow accommodations at nearby hotels in Pushkar. However, 70 rooms at Regenta Pushkar Fort are usually enough for immediate family and bridal party in even the grandest weddings, while other guests attending the main events can be transported from nearby lodgings.)

Regenta Pushkar Fort is fully equipped with world-class amenities to keep your guests entertained and comfortable throughout their stay. It’s not just a pretty venue; it’s a full-service resort where attendees can relax and rejuvenate in between wedding functions. Key amenities include:

Swimming Pool & Spa:

A large outdoor pool (set in the center of the lawn) offers a refreshing escape – great for a fun pool party or just a morning dip. The resort also features a wellness center/spa where guests can enjoy massages and spa therapies to unwind from jetlag or pre-wedding jitters. (Imagine the bridesmaids getting a relaxing spa session arranged by Wedifys before the big day!)

Multi-Cuisine Restaurants and Bars:

The in-house restaurant Rajwada serves a range of cuisines – from authentic Rajasthani delicacies to Continental, Chinese, and more. The culinary team can cater to diverse palates, including pure vegetarian or Jain menus and even live food counters for chaat or BBQ. There is also a bar facility (discreetly arranged, given Pushkar’s holy status) so you can have champagne toasts and cocktails during your functions. Wedifys works closely with the chefs to design gourmet menus – be it a traditional Rajasthani dal-baati churma station or an Italian pasta bar – to delight your guests.

Recreational Activities:

Being a resort, there are on-site experiences that guests (especially NRIs or friends on holiday) will love. They can partake in camel safaris, folk music evenings, yoga sessions on the lawn, or a guided tour of Pushkar arranged by the hotel. The property’s expansive gardens are perfect for morning yoga or haldi games, and at night, the staff can set up bonfires or a folk dance performance upon request. Wedifys can help coordinate these extra experiences to turn your wedding into a rich cultural retreat.

Guest Services:

Regenta Pushkar Fort prides itself on excellent hospitality. There’s a 24-hour front desk and concierge, valet parking for those driving in, and even currency exchange (forex) services, which is a boon for international guests. Laundry service, airport transfers, and travel desk assistance are all available. For the bride and groom, a special bridal dressing room is provided – a private space to get ready or steal a quiet moment. Additionally, the resort has power backup and high-speed internet, so all events run seamlessly (and your friends can live-stream the pheras without a hitch!).

Safety and Convenience:

The entire resort becomes your private haven when you book a wedding here. Security and privacy are well-managed. The property is fenced and guarded, which means your high-profile guests or celebrity performers can feel secure. Plus, having all venues and rooms in one complex means minimal commuting – elderly guests or families with kids will appreciate not having to move around town for different functions.

In essence, Regenta Pushkar Fort provides a complete package of luxury and convenience. With Wedifys orchestrating the details – from spa appointments to setting up a kids’ play area – you can be confident that every guest will be taken care of like royalty.

Food & Catering Expenses for Destination Wedding at Regenta Pushkar Fort

One of the highlights of any Indian wedding is the food, and Regenta Pushkar Fort does not disappoint. The resort offers in-house catering with a wide array of menu options, and couples often rave about the quality and taste. Whether you want a full traditional Rajasthani feast or a global gourmet spread, the chefs here can make it happen.

When budgeting for your wedding, it’s important to know the per-plate catering costs:

Vegetarian Menu:

Approximately ₹1,150 per plate (about $14 USD). This typically covers a lavish multi-course meal with starters, a main course buffet, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages. For example, a dinner might include live chaat counters, a variety of curries and breads, rice dishes, salads, and decadent sweets – truly a banquet fit for a king.

Non-Vegetarian Menu:

Approximately ₹1,350 per plate (about $16 USD). If you opt to include non-veg dishes like butter chicken, kebabs, or laal maas, the cost per guest is slightly higher. (Pushkar is a holy town, and many weddings here choose all-veg out of respect, but the resort does allow non-veg and alcohol on the premises, being on the outskirts).

These rates are a general starting point and can vary based on the exact menu, the number of items, and taxes. Wedifys will help you work out the details – for instance, if you have a lot of foreign guests, we might include more continental options, or if it’s a local Rajasthani crowd, we’ll ensure the authentic spices and dishes are spot-on. The catering team can also set up live stations (like a dosa station in the morning breakfast or a live tandoor for fresh breads in dinner), which are always a hit.

To put it in perspective, if you have 150 guests and plan to host, say, three major meals (Welcome dinner, Wedding lunch, and  Reception dinner), a pure vegetarian plan might cost roughly ₹1,150 * 150 * 3 ≈ ₹5,17,500 (about $6,300). A mix of veg and non-veg could average out to maybe ₹1,250/plate, coming to ₹5,62,500 (about $6,800) for 150 guests for three meals. Of course, lighter events like a high-tea Mehndi or a simple breakfast might cost less per head, whereas a lavish reception with premium desserts might be a bit more.

Beverages:

Non-alcoholic drinks (juices, sodas, mocktails) are usually included in the per-plate package. Alcohol is charged per bottle or per drink if you have a bar. We can arrange packages for unlimited cocktails for a set duration or have a consumption-based bar – whichever suits your budget. Keep in mind, many guests in Pushkar appreciate a good chai stall or filter coffee station, which we can add for a modest cost but great impact.

Wedifys will ensure that every penny spent on catering translates into a delightful culinary experience. From organizing menu tastings to ensuring dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, Jain food, etc.) are met, we’ve got you covered. Your guests will leave with hearts and tummies full!

Wedding Facilities and Vendor Services at Regenta Pushkar Fort pushkar

Planning a wedding involves many moving parts, and Regenta Pushkar Fort, along with Wedifys, makes it as one-stop and seamless as possible. The resort offers a range of in-house wedding services so you won’t have to worry about sourcing external vendors unless you want to.

Decoration:

The venue has an in-house decor team and stylists who are familiar with the property’s layout and aesthetics. They can provide everything from mandap setups, floral arrangements, and stage backdrops to lighting and themed props. Working with in-house decorators can be efficient since they know what works best in each venue (for example, how to illuminate the pool area or how to hang floral garlands from the Darbar Hall’s ceiling safely). If you have a specific decorator in mind, Wedifys will liaise, but note that outside decorators might incur an additional fee or require prior permission. Typically, couples choose the hotel’s decor team or one of Wedifys’ trusted partner decorators to ensure consistency and quality.

Entertainment (Music & DJ):

Regenta Pushkar Fort provides in-house DJ and sound services as well. They have quality sound equipment for both indoor and outdoor setups. You can have a DJ, dhol players, or even a live band – the hotel can arrange these or accommodate external professionals. The advantage of using the venue’s DJ setup is that the acoustics and noise limitations are already been tested (Pushkar has open-air sound curfews, and the hotel will guide us on timing so we can party worry-free). Wedifys can also book special entertainment like a Rajasthani folk dance troupe for your sangeet, a percussionist to jam with the DJ, or that special song for your first dance played live on a guitar.

Catering:

As discussed, catering is in-house and top-notch. This is actually a huge plus – it means one less vendor to coordinate, and the food quality is assured by the hotel’s reputation. We’ll just recap that all cuisines (Indian regional, Continental, Oriental, etc.) are available, and the catering team is experienced with wedding banquet services.

Bar Service:

The resort has a liquor license (being part of a hotel chain) and can set up bar counters for your events. They can provide professional bartenders, glassware, and a range of spirits and wines. Whether you want a signature cocktail named after you two or a full-fledged open bar during the reception, it can be arranged on-site. Wedifys will help design the drink menu and manage the inventory so that the champagne never runs out during the toast!

Other Services:

The hotel offers valet parking, which is great if some guests drive in from nearby cities. A dedicated event manager from the hotel typically works with Wedifys to ensure logistics (like generators, housekeeping, etc.) are all in place. There’s also provision for a fireworks show or special effects (like cold pyrotechnics during your ring ceremony) – these require permissions, but the hotel can facilitate them given advance notice. Doli and Baraat arrangements (like a horse or vintage car for the groom’s entry) can be organized too – Wedifys has contacts in Pushkar for authentic props, and the hotel allows these on premises.

The key here is convenience and reliability. With most essential services available in-house, coordination is streamlined. You won’t be dealing with a dozen separate vendors – Wedifys will be your single point of contact, coordinating with the venue’s teams for decor, music, food, etc. This not only ensures a cohesive vision (since everyone is on the same page), but also often saves cost due to bundled packages.

(Fun fact: Because the resort team and Wedifys work so closely, by the time your wedding day arrives, it’s like a well-oiled machine. You’ll notice hotel staff who remember exactly how you like your coffee, or a DJ who knows the one song your college friends will go crazy to. This level of personalized service is what makes weddings here so special.)

Decoration and Entertainment Costs for Destination Wedding at Regenta Pushkar Fort pushkar

To create that “wow” factor at your wedding, investing in décor and entertainment is key. Let’s break down what you might expect to spend on these at Regenta Pushkar Fort, with both INR and USD estimates:

Basic Decor Package:

Starting from ₹3,00,000 (approx $3,600). This base package typically includes standard stage and mandap setup with floral arrangements for one event (e.g., the wedding ceremony), plus simple table centerpieces and venue lighting. At Regenta Pushkar Fort, even the basic décor looks lovely because the venue itself has so much character. For example, minimal marigold garlands and lanterns can transform the courtyard for a Mehndi, leveraging the fort’s earthy tones and architecture.

Enhanced Decor & Theming:

If you have a specific theme or a more elaborate vision (say, a “Royal Sufi Night” for the sangeet with Mughal-style decor, or a “Fairy Tale Palace” theme with twinkling lights), decor costs will increase accordingly. A full 2-day décor plan covering multiple events can run around ₹10–15 lakhs (₹1,000,000–1,500,000) which is roughly $12,000–$18,000. This would include unique setups for each function – for instance: vibrant drapes, puppets, and Rangoli art for the Haldi; a grand floral mandap and aisle for the wedding; and crystal chandeliers, LED walls, and extravagant centerpieces for the reception. With Wedifys, we ensure every rupee is well spent – we know which areas to prioritize to make maximum impact (like adorning the entrance gate for that gorgeous first impression, or focusing on stage lighting for spectacular photos).

Entertainment (Music & Performances):

A professional DJ for an evening typically costs around ₹40,000 – ₹60,000 (about $500–$750), which usually includes the DJ’s fee and sound equipment rental for an event. If you’re hiring a live band or singer, fees can range widely: local folk singers or a flute/tabla duo for the ceremony might be ₹20,000 (~$240), whereas a popular wedding band performing at your reception could charge ₹1–2 lakhs ($1,200–$2,400). Some couples also book special acts like a LED violinist or fire-dancers to entertain guests between functions – such acts might cost around ₹50,000 ($600) each.

For a grand touch, Wedifys can bring in regional flavor: e.g., a troupe of Kalbelia dancers (the famous Rajasthani folk dance) for your sangeet, accompanied by live percussion. A cultural performance like that could be about ₹30,000 ($360) and adds an unforgettable element to your destination wedding.

Lighting & AV:

Don’t forget technical aspects – fancy intelligent lighting for the dance floor, projectors for a slideshow, or a high-end sound system for a concert-like experience might add ₹50,000–₹100,000 ($600–$1,200) depending on requirements. For instance, if you want to display a live feed of the wedding on big LED screens for a large crowd on the lawn, those screens would be an extra cost (often rented per day).

Miscellaneous Entertainment:

Photo booths (with fun props and instant prints) might cost around ₹25,000 ($300). A fireworks display in the night sky (if permitted) can range from ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000 ($600–$1,200) for a brief show. These are optional, of course, but if you have the budget, they certainly add sparkle – literally!

Wedifys will work closely with you to prioritize what matters most. If dancing is your top priority, we might allocate more to a great DJ and a fabulous light setup. If you want a floral wonderland, we’ll allocate more budget to décor. The beauty of Regenta Pushkar Fort is that it looks stunning even with minimal decoration (thanks to its inherent beauty), so you can decide where to splurge and where to be subtle. Our goal is to deliver an unforgettable atmosphere that reflects your style, while making sure we stay within a comfortable budget range for you.

Why Choose Regenta Pushkar Fort for Your Wedding

With so many destination wedding venues out there, here’s why Regenta Pushkar Fort, Pushkar stands out as a top choice (and why the Wedifys team absolutely loves planning weddings here):

Stunning Location:

Where else can you find a fort-style luxury resort surrounded by mountains and desert? The Aravalli hills encircle the property, offering breathtaking vistas, especially during sunrise and sunset. The setting is private and serene – you get the feel of an exotic getaway, yet you’re just a short drive from major cities. For NRI couples, it offers an authentic Indian backdrop that will wow your overseas guests – peacocks chirping in the morning and clear starry skies at night.

Heritage Charm with Modern Luxury:

Regenta Pushkar Fort strikes that perfect balance – you and your guests get to live in a royal Rajasthani fort ambiance but without sacrificing on five-star comforts. The architecture, from the grand haveli-style façade to the carved pillars, gives a fairy-tale palace feel to all your festivities. Meanwhile, the rooms, bathrooms, and services are fully up to contemporary luxe standards (think plush bedding, climate control, upscale toiletries). This mix is ideal for couples who want a traditional theme to their wedding but also need to ensure older guests or foreign friends won’t have any discomfort.

All-in-One Convenience:

Hosting all your events in one property means no logistical nightmares of shuttling guests around. As planners, Wedifys values this immensely – it simplifies scheduling and ensures everyone is present at the right place and time. You can literally finish your pheras and have your reception a stone’s throw away on the next lawn. Plus, with accommodation on-site, it creates a convivial, reunion-like atmosphere – your college buddies can have an after-party by the pool, or cousins can enjoy a midnight chai together in the gardens. It’s like a mini wedding village just for you.

Capacity and Versatility:

Few venues can claim to handle both intimate weddings and 1500-person extravaganzas with equal aplomb. Regenta Pushkar Fort can. If you’re planning a smaller wedding (say 100 guests), the place won’t feel empty – venues can be set up to feel cozy. And if you plan a gigantic Big Fat Indian Wedding, the expansive lawns and support infrastructure can scale up to meet the need. The property layout allows multiple events to happen in parallel too. For example, the groom’s side can have their Haldi on one lawn while the bride’s side does a ceremony in a courtyard – all without interference. This flexibility is a big plus for elaborate wedding itineraries.

Experienced Hospitality Team:

The staff at Regenta Pushkar Fort is experienced with high-profile weddings and understands the nuances of Indian ceremonies. They are courteous, professional, and as per client reviews, great at time management and service. From the waiters managing the buffet to the manager coordinating with decorators, everyone knows their role. Many past guests have noted that the team here goes above and beyond – whether it’s helping an elderly guest with their bags or getting that last-minute safety pin for the bride. With Wedifys and the resort’s staff working hand-in-hand, you’ll have a powerhouse team dedicated to making your celebration perfect.

Wedifys Planning & Personalization:

When you choose Regenta Pushkar Fort through Wedifys, you also choose a personalized planning experience. We don’t do cookie-cutter weddings. The venue provides a magnificent canvas, and Wedifys will paint your love story onto it. Want a camel procession for your baraat? Done. Wish to set up a kids’ zone with puppet shows to keep the little ones entertained? We’ll make it happen. Dreaming of a mandap by the pool covered in a million marigolds? Consider it handled. We have planned numerous weddings at this property, so we know all the secret spots for best photos, the room with the best view for your first morning, and how to time the events to catch that magical golden hour light. Our expertise combined with the venue’s excellence guarantees a truly bespoke wedding experience.

Exclusivity without Celebrity Hype:

Unlike some overly publicized palace hotels, Regenta Pushkar Fort remains something of a hidden gem. It hasn’t been “done to death” by celebrity weddings (in fact, no huge Bollywood wedding has taken place here yet, which means it’s all yours to be the star of) – and that lends a special charm. Your wedding will feel unique and exclusive, not one in a line-up of dozens of high-profile events. However, you still get the same grandeur and Instagram-worthy beauty that celebs crave. It’s like getting a royal venue with a touch of privacy and novelty.

In short, Regenta Pushkar Fort offers location, luxury, and legacy – all in one. It’s a place where your guests will be thrilled to receive an invite (“a wedding in a Rajasthani fort, wow!”), and where you’ll create memories of a lifetime. Wedifys recommends this venue wholeheartedly for couples who want a royal destination wedding that’s equal parts elegant and enjoyable.

Sample: a 2-Day Wedding Itinerary at Regenta Pushkar Fort

To help you envision your celebration, here’s a sample 2-day itinerary that Wedifys could design at Regenta Pushkar Fort. This covers the main functions of a traditional Indian wedding, with each event thoughtfully assigned to a venue that enhances its vibe:

Day 1: Welcome, Mehndi & Sangeet

Afternoon – Mehndi Ceremony:

Guests arrive at midday to a traditional Rajasthani welcome with dhol beats and a welcome drink of rose sherbet. After check-in and lunch, the Mehndi (henna) function kicks off around 3 PM at the Kesar Hall and its adjoining courtyard. The intimate hall is decorated in vibrant colors – think marigold flowers, colorful drapes, and ethnic cushions for seating. Ladies get henna designs applied while enjoying folk music. We set up fun DIY bangle and jutti stalls for that bazaar feel. It’s a casual, cheerful event where guests mingle and settle in. (Meanwhile, kids might splash in the pool under supervision – the atmosphere is like a fun family afternoon.) Wedifys ensures a seamless transition: as Mehndi wraps up, we move everyone to rest and get ready for the rocking evening ahead.

Evening – Sangeet & Cocktail Party:

By 7 PM, the Darbar Banquet Hall has been transformed into a dazzling venue for your Sangeet night. A grand stage with LED backdrop is set at one end of the hall for performances. The theme tonight is “Royal Glam,” with the hall lit up by crystal chandeliers and dozens of candles, accentuating the antique charm of the space. The groom’s friends put on a dance, the bride’s siblings sing a medley – it’s an evening of heartfelt performances and high-energy dances. A full bar is open just outside the hall (in the foyer or a side lawn) serving cocktails, wine and signature drinks named after the couple. A lavish dinner buffet (with live grills and a pasta station) is laid out in an adjacent area so that the hall remains focused on the show and dance floor. After the performances, a DJ takes over and the Darbar Hall becomes a nightclub – with superb acoustics and mood lighting. Guests groove to Bollywood and international hits. By around 11 PM, the formal Sangeet ends – but for those night owls, we’ve arranged an after-party by the poolside! Picture this: a small group gathers by the pool with a portable speaker, some late-night snacks (think kebabs and hot jalebis), and perhaps a bottle of champagne – enjoying the cool desert night and each other’s company. Day 1 concludes on a high note, and our Wedifys coordinators make sure everyone gets back to their rooms (or to their shuttle, if staying off-site) safely, with memories made and more to come tomorrow.

Day 2: Haldi, Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Morning – Haldi & Morning Rituals:

The next day begins early with a refreshing Haldi ceremony around 9 AM. We utilize the Pool Side Garden, but a smaller section – perhaps under a beautiful old tree decorated with yellow and orange drapes. The sun is soft, birds are chirping, and in this scenic outdoor setting the bride and groom’s families apply turmeric paste (haldi) amidst much laughter and music. We’ve arranged for a traditional band with dholaks to sing shaadi songs. Yellow marigolds are everywhere, and guests are dressed in shades of yellow, adding to the visual delight. A light brunch is served afterward – fresh kachoris, poha, fruits, and smoothies – so everyone has energy for the main event. For those interested, a short optional visit to the Brahma Temple in Pushkar is arranged late morning (it’s considered auspicious to seek blessings). Wedifys provides transport and a guide for this temple visit, ensuring the couple (separately, as per tradition) or any guests who want to go have a hassle-free experience. By noon, everyone is back and then it’s time to rest and get dressed in wedding finery.

Afternoon to Evening – Wedding Ceremony:

The big moment has arrived. Around 4 PM, the groom’s baraat (procession) starts at the resort gate. We’ve arranged a beautifully decked mare (horse) for the groom, and his friends and family dance to the beats of a local band as they make their way through the resort’s driveway. The bride’s family welcomes them at the entrance courtyard with aarti and tika. Now, the wedding itself is set at the front lawn facing the grand façade of the fort (imagine the building [42] as the backdrop of your mandap!). A magnificent mandap has been erected on a platform – draped in red and gold, with fresh roses and jasmine garlands hanging from its pillars. Seating for guests is theater-style on the lawn, with a decorative aisle leading to the mandap. As the golden hour approaches (5:30–6 PM), the bride makes her entrance – perhaps under a phoolon ki chadar (floral canopy) carried by her brothers, with live shehnai music playing. It’s a goosebumps moment. The ceremony (pheras) takes place right around sunset, and as you circle the holy fire, the sky turns a lovely shade of pink behind the Aravalli hills – truly a divine setting! We ensure a sound system is in place so even the back rows can hear the pundit’s chants and the rituals. Cold drinks and water are passed around to keep guests refreshed. The vibe is spiritual and joyous. By 7 PM, you are officially married! A quick round of congratulations follows, and we arrange a group photo session in front of the fort so you get that perfect royal wedding portrait with the entire family.

Night – Reception Dinner & Dancing:

After a brief break (where the couple can freshen up and maybe change outfits for the reception), the final celebration begins. The Pool Side Lawn has now morphed into a glittering Reception venue. Round tables with elegant linens and floral centerpieces dot the lawn for seating, while one side has a grand stage with a beautiful backdrop (perhaps a LED wall showing your pre-wedding photos or a floral wall with your monogram). The bride and groom make a dramatic entry – say, fireworks fountain sparklers lining the pathway as you walk in to your favorite song. You cut a towering wedding cake as everyone applauds. Dinner is then opened – a gourmet spread featuring global cuisines as well as local specialties (we even set up a live Rajasthani village theme counter with clay pots and folks making bajra rotis and serving dal). Guests enjoy their meal at leisure. Post-dinner, the party picks up again – a live band plays soft music initially and later shifts to peppy numbers. Many couples at Pushkar Fort opt for a mix of a DJ and live musicians to keep all age groups happy. Under the starry sky, with the fort illuminated in the background, you have your first dance as a married couple on an open-air dance floor. The atmosphere is electric yet intimate – fairy lights strung on trees, the moon reflecting in the pool, and your loved ones cheering you on. We can also arrange a surprise element – like a short fireworks show after the dance, lighting up the night sky in celebration. By 11 or 12 at night, the reception winds down with a memorable bidai (farewell) for the bride, if you’re following that tradition. Close family might gather for a few emotional send-off moments. But it’s a sweet farewell, because the next morning everyone will meet again for breakfast!

Day 3 (Optional) – Post-Wedding Brunch:

Many couples choose to have a casual get-together the morning after, to open gifts, have fun games, or just chat about the wedding highlights. At Pushkar Fort, we could arrange a farewell brunch by the pool on Day 3 for all staying guests – a lovely conclusion where everyone gets to say proper goodbyes and the newlyweds thank everyone personally.

This sample itinerary is just a glimpse; the actual schedule can be tailored to your customs and preferences. The key takeaway is that over two days, we utilized all the signature venues of the resort – Kesar Hall for Mehndi, Darbar Hall for Sangeet, the front lawn for the Wedding, and the poolside lawn for Reception – giving each event its own character. With Wedifys handling the logistics, transitions between events are smooth (guests will often marvel at how magically one venue turns into the next scene of celebration). Time for rest, socializing, and exploring Pushkar is also woven in, so it feels like a true wedding vacation for everyone.

Cost Breakdown: Mid-Sized vs. Full-Capacity Wedding

Let’s talk numbers now – what would a wedding at Regenta Pushkar Fort cost? While exact figures depend on choices and customization, we can give ballpark breakdowns for two scenarios. (All prices are approximate, in INR with USD in brackets.)

Mid-Sized Wedding (~150 Guests)

For an intimate-yet-lavish wedding with about 150 guests (using most facilities but not the absolute maximum capacity), here’s an estimated budget breakdown:

Venue Rental: ~ ₹8,00,000 (approx $9,600) for a 2-day exclusive use. (The venue often offers a per-day rent or package. Approximately ₹4 lakh per day is a guideline for full property usage, which covers all event spaces.)

Accommodation (2 nights): ~ ₹6,50,000 (approx $7,800). This assumes booking all 70 rooms for two nights at roughly ₹4,500 per room per night. Many couples opt to buy out the resort so all rooms are theirs – it ensures privacy and all-inclusive feel. You might actually negotiate a package including rooms + venue together.

Catering: ~ ₹6,00,000 (approx $7,200). For 150 guests and say 3 main functions with catering (as we calculated earlier). This could go up or down based on the number of events with full meals. (For instance, adding a fourth catered event like a brunch will add cost, whereas doing a lighter menu at one event could save some.)

Decor (2 days, all events): ~ ₹10,00,000 (approx $12,000). This mid-level decor budget would allow for beautiful setups for each function without being over the top. It covers floral mandap, stage decor, table setups, lighting, etc., across Mehndi, Wedding, and Reception (and some basic décor for Haldi). If you decide to go very minimal on one event (like keep Haldi decor simple), you could cut this down to 7–8 lakhs; conversely, if you want extravagant designs everywhere, this could rise to 12–15 lakhs.

Entertainment & Performances: ~ ₹1,00,000 (approx $1,200). This might include a good DJ for two nights (Sangeet and Reception), some dhol players for Baraat, and maybe a folk performance during Mehndi. If you bring in a celebrity singer or a high-end band, costs would increase accordingly.

Miscellaneous (Logistics & Extras): ~ ₹2,00,000 (approx $2,400). This accounts for things like guest transportation (e.g., buses to pick up guests from Jaipur airport), printing of invites or itinerary booklets, cake, photographer/videographer (though this is often contracted separately), and contingency funds. For example, a top photography team could itself be ₹2–3 lakhs, but since that’s not venue-specific, we haven’t included it fully here. Still, one should budget for these parallel expenses.

Total Estimated Cost (150-guest wedding): ₹30–35 lakhs (approximately $36,000–$42,000).

This range gives you a fairly high-end wedding at Regenta Pushkar Fort with all the trimmings. Many couples manage within this for 150 guests, especially if they prioritize what matters most to them. Wedifys can help adjust the plan to meet your budget – for instance, if you skip one event like a separate cocktail party, or opt for less expensive décor at Mehndi, those savings can be reallocated or reduce the total. Conversely, if you have, say, 200 guests, costs for catering and accommodation will bump up a bit, maybe taking it to ~₹40 lakhs ($48k).

Full-Capacity Wedding (Large Scale, 500–1500 Guests)

Now, for a grand gala wedding utilizing the venue’s full capacity (let’s consider around 1000 guests for calculation, though the venue can host up to 1500 in a pinch). In such a scenario, typically not all guests stay on-site (most will be local or put up in other hotels), but you’ll use the fort mainly for events. Here’s an approximate breakdown:

Venue Rental: ~ ₹8,00,000 (approx $9,600). Even for a large wedding, the venue rent for 2 days remains in this ballpark. You’re essentially booking the whole resort for your functions.

Accommodation: ~ ₹6,00,000 (approx $7,200). This covers the 70 rooms for two nights for close family/important guests. The majority of your 1000 guests would not be accommodated here due to capacity – they might be commuters or in other hotels – so you wouldn’t incur lodging costs for them under this venue’s budget. (If you choose to accommodate additional guests elsewhere, that’s a separate cost outside Regenta’s scope.)

Catering: ~ ₹40,00,000 (approx $48,000). This assumes about 1000 guests attending the main events and perhaps slightly fewer at smaller events. For instance, maybe 300-400 attend the Mehndi (local close circle), but all 1000 attend the Reception dinner. Food is usually the largest expense in big Indian weddings. At ~₹1,200 per plate average, ₹40 lakh covers roughly 3-4 major meal events for 1000 people. If your guest count is 1500 at peak, this could proportionally go up to ₹50–60 lakhs ($60k–$72k) for catering. Wedifys would carefully plan menus to ensure quality at scale – often large weddings opt for buffet stations spread out to manage crowd flow, etc., which we handle expertly.

Decor: ~ ₹25,00,000 (approx $30,000). With a huge guest count and sprawling spaces, decor needs scale up. You might need giant pandals or tents for shade, larger-than-life backdrops so people afar can see, extensive floral work, etc. Also, you’ll likely decorate multiple zones if events are split (e.g., two lawns simultaneously). ₹25 lakh allows for a very opulent setup – grand floral arrangements, thematic props, lighting up the entire 5-acre property beautifully. It would cover, say, a spectacular reception stage that’s 80 feet long, elaborate table settings for hundreds of tables, etc. If you go ultra-lux (like imported flowers or elaborate structures), decor could even touch ₹40–50 lakhs for such a scale, but many find amazing solutions within ₹25L by prioritizing the focal areas.

Entertainment: ~ ₹5,00,000 (approx $6,000). For a massive wedding, you might allocate more for entertainment. This could include a celebrity performer or a famous DJ for the reception, a troupe of 20 dancers for a big sangeet production, LED screens and special effects, etc. For example, hiring a well-known singer like a Bollywood playback singer can cost a few lakhs alone. In this estimate, ₹5L might cover a star DJ (₹2L), a band (₹1L), enhanced sound/light (₹1L), and some folk acts (₹1L). This is an area with huge variability – some big-fat weddings spend crores if they bring in superstars; others keep it more about the traditional fun.

Logistics & Misc: ~ ₹5,00,000 (approx $6,000). Large weddings often have added logistical costs: high-capacity generators, extra security personnel, golf carts or rickshaws to ferry guests from the gate to the lawn, large-scale invitation printing and gift hampers, multiple photography teams to cover everything, etc. We include a buffer here for such needs. Also, transport for guests (like a fleet of buses from multiple hotels in Ajmer/Pushkar to the venue) might be significant – however, that could be borne by guests or arranged separately. Wedifys can manage bus shuttles so that even with 1000 attendees, parking and traffic is smooth.

Total Estimated Cost (1000+ guest wedding): ₹80–90 lakhs (approximately $100,000–$110,000). It could approach or exceed ₹1 crore ($120,000+) if you choose very high-end options across the board. Indeed, a range is wise here: some might pull off a 1000-person wedding in say ₹70 lakhs by being very strategic (e.g., limiting events, simpler décor, etc.), while others might go all out to ₹1.2 crore with extravagances. Wedifys’ role is to maximize value no matter the budget – we’ll advise where spending will wow guests versus where you can save because it might not be noticed in a crowd.

To contextualize, a destination wedding in Pushkar generally can range widely in cost, as noted by industry sources – roughly ₹15 lakhs to ₹2 crores for the spectrum of small to very large weddings. Our breakdown falls within that, tailored to Regenta Pushkar Fort specifically.

In both scenarios, keep in mind that these figures include most of your venue-related wedding expenses (stay, food, decor, etc.). Personal expenses like outfits, jewelry, photography, etc., are separate. Wedifys provides transparent budgeting – from day one, we’ll map out costs and where each rupee goes, adjusting as per your priorities. Heritage or Historic? Architecture and Background

Regenta Pushkar Fort is a luxury heritage-style resort in Pushkar that emulates the grandeur of a traditional Rajasthani fort. Despite its historic appearance, the property is not an actual centuries-old fort – it was purpose-built in the early 2000s by its founders, Mr. and Mrs. Rathore. In fact, the hotel was established in 2005 on about 4 acres of land at the foot of the Savitri Temple hill on the outskirts of Pushkar. It forms part of the Royal Orchid Hotels’ Regenta chain, which speaks to its modern hospitality standards. The owners’ vision was to blend modern comfort with the splendor of Rajasthani heritage, creating a fort-like retreat that offers “old world charm” alongside contemporary amenities.

Architecturally, Regenta Pushkar Fort is designed to evoke a historic fort palace. The construction incorporates high sandstone-colored walls topped with battlements, grand arched gateways, and ornamental Rajput–Mughal–style elements like jharokha balconies and chhatri domed pavilions. The facade features intricate decorative carvings and traditional motifs, imitating the craftsmanship of royal Rajasthan. Walking through its imposing entrance gate and courtyards can feel like stepping back in time. (In promotional literature, the resort is even touted as “the first desert fort in Rajasthan” and the first fully air-conditioned ethnic heritage hotel in India, underscoring the property’s emphasis on an authentic fort ambiance.) Inside, however, guests find all the modern comforts of a four-star hotel. The result is a “luxury heritage resort” experience – while culturally significant mainly as a tribute to local architecture, the property itself does not carry centuries of royal history. It is not a protected historic monument, but it captures the essence of Rajasthan’s regal past through its design and décor. This unique blend of heritage aesthetics and modern hospitality has made Regenta Pushkar Fort one of Pushkar’s most distinctive and sought-after hotels for travelers and wedding groups alike.

A Luxury Venue for Weddings and Events

In terms of notable events, the property has hosted numerous grand weddings and parties, including those of well-to-do families seeking a royal theme. While no widely publicized celebrity has (so far) chosen this resort for their own nuptials, the venue has certainly attracted famous performers and guests. For instance, in March 2024, a high-profile wedding at Pushkar Fort featured a live performance by popular Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa, who was booked as entertainment during the festivities. The ability to stage such star-studded shows on its lawns underscores the resort’s capacity to handle elaborate, celebrity-scale events. Wedding industry reviews praise the hotel’s dedicated event services – from catering that fuses local Rajasthani flavors with global cuisine, to on-site décor that can be tailored for themes – all aimed at delivering an “extraordinary wedding experience” for the couple and guests. Regenta Pushkar Fort’s team is experienced in organizing royal-themed weddings, ensuring that even if the fort is newly built, your celebration there is steeped in authentic tradition and grandeur.

In summary, Regenta Pushkar Fort is a heritage-style venue rather than an actual historic fort. approximately 20 years old but designed to reflect Rajasthan’s royal forts in its architecture and ambiance. It may not come with centuries of its own history, yet it offers a culturally rich setting – complete with palace-like accommodations and fort courtyards – which holds great appeal for couples seeking a regal destination wedding. Its picturesque location (surrounded by desert vistas and overlooked by a hilltop temple), large-capacity event spaces, and track record of hosting lavish functions (even involving celebrity performers) make it a memorable and significant venue in Pushkar’s luxury wedding circuit. Anyone planning a wedding here can expect the flavor of royal history combined with modern comfort, truly giving a “fort experience” to their special day
