How We Met

Sanchit shares, “Our parents wanted us to meet for almost a year, but we kept avoiding it. Finally, we decided to meet at The Lodhi Hotel. Upon reaching, I called Aashika to check if she had arrived, and she said ‘yes.’ The problem was she had reached Lodhi Restaurant while I was at The Lodhi Hotel. It took us another 30 minutes to finally meet. When we did, we didn’t hit it off because we were so different. We went home and told our parents we weren’t interested in continuing.

However, one day, her parents planned to meet mine and see me at my home. They convinced Aashika to come back to Delhi from Mumbai, where she was studying, and we met again with our families present. We exchanged numbers, and luckily, I had to travel to Mumbai for a friend’s wedding. That night was a blur due to excessive drinking, and I ended up calling Aashika 37 times! The next morning, I saw that she had answered all 37 calls. Embarrassed, I apologized and convinced her to meet me that evening. We met at Gadda da Vida and talked for six hours straight. That night changed our perception of each other, and that’s how we officially met!”

Sanchit says, “For Aashika, wearing a Sabyasachi lehenga was a dream. For me, it was having Happy Flashbacks document our beautiful moments. We met Noopur and Anish six months before our wedding, and even in the first meeting, my mom and I were sure about having them onboard. The entire process felt like a picnic with friends. We had a great time traveling and shooting with Happy Flashbacks.

Their team styled and planned everything, including four outfit changes. The final outcome was beautiful. Noopur’s styling skills were unmatched—she finalized everything in less than 15 minutes. Noopur and Anish were secretive yet trustworthy, making us comfortable in front of the camera.

From concepts and clothes to frames and color coordination, they handled everything, and we followed their lead. Our favorite look was an all-white outfit in a cave with running water. Another look had me in a pink suit and Aashika in a saree on top of a mountain, creating a perfect, dreamy scene. We also matched my shirt and pants to Aashika’s purple gown at the Savoy Mussorie, adding a royal charm. For our final ‘drunk’ theme at the Savoy, we wore fun clothes for the rapid fire round. Our experience with Happy Flashbacks was wonderful, and their team pulled off the shoot exceptionally well. The beautiful pictures speak for themselves.”
