Jodhpur, a city that extends well beyond its ancient walls, captivates with the vibrant hustle and charm of its old Blue City and its imposing forts that seem to emerge from another era. This enchanting city is the heartland of Maharajas, adorned with their opulent palaces that echo the grandeur and romance of a storied past. Drawn to the rich, regal atmosphere of Jodhpur, Vijay and Sonal chose the exquisite 'House of Rohet' as the backdrop for their pre-wedding shoot. Here, Vijay recounts their love story and the memorable highlights from their shoot.

How We Met

“We believe that everyone you meet in life comes into your world for a reason. Our story began in 2014, when Sonal and I first spoke over a call. At that time, I was in Cardiff, UK, and she was studying in India. In 2015, Sonal moved to London to pursue her Master’s Degree. Coincidentally, I was also in London, and we spoke over the phone for the second time. However, despite being in the same city, we never met in person and lost touch shortly after. Fast forward to a few months ago, my parents presented me with a marriage proposal, and to my surprise, it was Sonal! It felt like fate had intervened, and we spoke for the third time. We finally met in person in Jodhpur, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.”

“Like many couples, we spent countless hours on social media platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, gathering ideas and references for our pre-wedding shoot. We wanted our photos to reflect our rich Rajasthani culture and heritage. Our search led us to 'The House of Rohet', a stunning location situated about 40 km from Jodhpur. Its reputation as a famous destination added a fun twist to our shoot, as tourists eagerly approached us with posing suggestions while we were shooting. Embracing traditional attire, I wore a Jodhpuri Bandhgala Suit, while Sonal chose a beautiful lemon-colored linen saree paired with traditional Rajputi ‘Aad’ jewellery and a ‘Hathi kada’ (a bracelet adorned with elephant motifs). The experience was made even more special by the enthusiastic and professional team from Weddshooter, who captured our moments perfectly.”
