Akshay & Ketki’s Vintage Pre-Wedding Shoot in Mumbai | Classic Love Story

Akshay, born and raised in Jaipur, works as an investment analyst at Goldman Sachs. Ketki, from Pune, manages her family's restaurant business. Despite attending the same college in Pune for four years, their paths never crossed. However, Akshay’s friend Harsh, who knew Ketki from college, thought she would be the perfect match for Akshay. When Akshay, the dashing Punjabi, met Ketki, the beautiful Maharashtrian, he fell for her instantly. But with Ketki heading to London in three months for her postgraduate degree, she wasn't ready for a long-distance relationship.

I realized how much I loved her when I got her name tattooed on my wrist, even before she said 'yes.' I was running out of time and didn't want to let the love of my life go without trying,
Akshay shares. "About two or three weeks before her trip to London, she finally said 'yes,' and now, five-and-a-half years later, we're getting married! I'm so happy I persuaded her during those three months. I can't imagine my life without her," he gushes.

The couple explored various pre-wedding shoot ideas in India and abroad to find what suited them best. They both appreciate vintage architecture, a love kindled by their travels to Europe and London. They wanted a complex yet sophisticated, classy yet flamboyant theme for their shoot, but finding suitable locations in Mumbai posed a challenge.

Their pre-wedding photographer, Deepanshi of Happyframes, suggested locations and props. Ketki met her in person, and the couple discussed ideas over late-night conference calls. They shared photos of their outfits, and Deepanshi would visit each location and send pictures back to Akshay and Ketki.

The shoot began at 6:30 am to capture the relatively empty Victoria Terminus. They also shot at The Times of India office, The Good Wife Restaurant in BKC, Deepanshi’s House, The Taj Mahal Palace, Gateway of India, and Regal Cinema. Deepanshi used props like newspapers, a kettle and trumpet, stools, a gramophone, a vintage camera, an umbrella, vintage wall clocks, a huge mirror, and a handmade photo album Akshay gifted Ketki on their first anniversary. They wanted to incorporate it into their pre-wedding experience.

Bringing the vintage theme to life, through accessories, locations, expressions, and body language, was challenging but came naturally to the couple. Despite the early start, they enjoyed the shoot thoroughly. Deepanshi created perfect vintage backdrops, and the couple complemented them with their vintage ensembles.

These photos, and the memories made, are something the couple will cherish forever. Ketki, a wine connoisseur and makeup enthusiast, took the opportunity to express herself, especially during the glamorous shoot at The Good Wife.

The couple, who will marry in Jaipur, have meticulously selected their menu and plan to follow the vintage theme throughout their wedding events. The wedding will be held at Jai Mahal Palace Hotel, the mehndi at Hari Mahal Palace, the ring ceremony at Le Meridien Jaipur, and the sangeet and cocktails at Clarks Amer, each function featuring a different theme.
