When it comes to destination wedding photography, Baroda-based Prakash Tilokani, better known as the 'king of wedding photography', is the inspiration of innumerable photographers and wedding planners, Wedifys being one of them.

He runs the organization and his workforce of 40 family members with the accuracy of a corporate giant and has conveniently renamed his office premises 'Memories House.' His fortune has raised the local celebrity status from tycoons in business sector, to renowned actors of Bollywood, and politicians such as Laxmi Mittal and Shilpa Shetty. Recognized by both the media and the business community for his artistic talent and managerial skills, Tilokani also is an exemplary leader in people management and interpersonal relationships. Before joining the Kodak Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010 awards ceremony where the was one of the judges, Tilokani took the time to share with WeddingSutra his insight.

Merging ancient Indian artifacts with a magical fairy domesque conception, my goal is telling a wondrous tale through wedding photography. When crafting wedding albums, I adhere to a simple philosophy: "the album should even delight a four-year-old sitting in front of the reader." Each warm picture, amassed with love and all-new experiences, aims to hypnotize and amuse.

While I certainly have a high number of pictures in the actual books themselves and try to use only the best materials, my primary focus is actually on the paper, the food decoration material in a sense. The colorful images carry a form of silent message, and the visuals transform all of them into a sensory experience. Despite the fact, that old photo albums imply temporal sentimentality, contemporary printed photobooks are real keep-sake items. In bringing the completely novel idea of Photobooks in the Indian culture gives me a immense sense of pride and the delightful reach of photo books all over the nation now commends me the upmost pleasure.

I advise wedding photographers who want to develop their skills never to be held back by the word big and always watch out for changes. In order to succeed in photography, technical skills and sound business knowledge must be combined with a creative drive, an appetite for change, and the patience to continue on difficult days. Besides the award ceremony, The Kodak Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year Award also gives incentive to the community of photographers all over, thus maintaining the culture of innovative photography.
