Christline and Sneden Love Story - A Wedding Planner Style Platinum Love Tale

Christline Faroz, a pilot, and Sneden Gonsalves, a merchant navy sailor, first met in school where they formed a close, platonic friendship. However, life soon led them in different directions as they pursued their individual career paths. A decade later, fate brought them back together, and their friendship blossomed into love. Christline recalls, “We've known each other since the eighth grade, but after the twelfth grade, we went our separate ways-I went to New Zealand for a flying course, and Sneden joined the merchant navy. Almost ten years later, we reconnected through a mutual friend, and everything just clicked! I truly believe finding 'The One' is about the right person, place, and time, and this was it for us!”
A long-distance marriage isn't easy, but Christline and Sneden have built their relationship on their own terms. They adapt to each other's schedules and support one another, despite the challenges. Sneden explains, "Spending five months together and then being apart for the next five months really tests a relationship, but we respect the difficult choices we've made for our careers. Some days, we can’t even talk when Christline is flying, and I’m in a no-network zone. But we always prioritize each other when we’re together." Christline adds, “Even though Sneden isn't with me all the time, I know he's got my back. After an 18-hour shift on the ship, when he calls me, I can talk to him about anything, and he'll give me his undivided attention. He’s always there for me, and his support means the world.”

Christline’s journey to becoming a captain wasn’t easy, and when she was transferred to Bangalore for two years of advanced training, it was a big adjustment. Moving away from family and facing rigorous exams was daunting, but Sneden eased her anxieties by signing off at Bangalore instead of Mumbai during his shore leave so he could be with her. Christline shares, “It was a major transition for me. Moving away from home was tough, and I had to take several exams. I didn’t want to worry my family too much, so Sneden started signing off at Bangalore. Whenever he was on leave, he’d take me around the city to help me relax after a tough training day or exam. One time, I was frustrated after a bad test, and Sneden surprised me by picking me up at the airport and taking me on a date. He listened to my fears and helped me turn my negativity into motivation. His encouragement restored my focus, and I studied even harder for the next test.”

Despite their unpredictable schedules, Christline and Sneden see the distance as a blessing in disguise, as it strengthens their bond. Sneden shares, “I miss Christline a lot when I’m at sea, but the distance brings us closer. It’s taught us to never take a moment for granted. When we’re both on leave, we make every minute count by going on road trips and new adventures. Sometimes, she gets called in for duty while I’m home, but I’ll go with her and we’ll explore a new destination together. We’ve learned that home isn’t a place—it’s a person, and as long as we’re together, we’re home.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is platinum Days of Love?

Platinum Days of Love is a jewelry collection by Platinum Guild International (PGI) that celebrates the beauty and enduring nature of platinum. The collection features a range of platinum jewelry pieces, including engagement rings, wedding bands, and other romantic gifts, designed to commemorate special moments in a couple's relationship.

Which is better, gold or platinum?

There is no definitive answer as to which metal is "better" between gold and platinum. Both are highly valued precious metals with their own unique properties and advantages. The choice between gold and platinum often comes down to personal preference, budget, and specific needs or preferences.
Some key differences to consider:
- Platinum is generally more expensive than gold, with prices ranging from 40-50% higher.
- Platinum is denser and more durable than gold, making it a popular choice for engagement rings and other jewelry that will see regular wear.
- Gold is available in a wider range of colors (yellow, white, rose) while platinum has a naturally white color.
- Gold is more malleable and easier to work with than platinum.

Which is costly, gold or platinum?

Platinum is generally costlier than gold. As of May 2023, platinum is trading at around $1,070 per ounce while gold is trading at around $2,000 per ounce.
Some key reasons why platinum is more expensive:
- Platinum is rarer than gold. Only about 190 metric tons of platinum were produced globally in 2022 compared to 3,100 metric tons of gold.
- Platinum is denser than gold, requiring more metal to make the same size jewelry piece.
- Platinum is more difficult to mine and extract than gold.
However, the relative prices of gold and platinum can fluctuate over time based on supply, demand, and other economic factors.

Is white gold the same as platinum?

No, white gold and platinum are not the same metal. While they may appear similar in color,
they have some key differences:
- Composition: White gold is an alloy made of pure gold mixed with white metals like nickel, zinc or palladium to give it a white color. Platinum is a naturally white metal that is typically 95-98% pure.
- Density: Platinum is denser than white gold, requiring more metal to make the same size jewelry piece.
- Price: Platinum is generally 40-50% more expensive than white gold.
- Color: Platinum maintains its white color over time. White gold may require rhodium plating to maintain its white appearance.
So in summary, while white gold and platinum may look alike, they are distinct metals with different compositions, properties and price points. The choice between the two often comes down to budget and personal preference.
