Mallik is a physician at the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences in Loni, Maharashtra, while I am a medical student at Oregon Health and Science University in the USA. Three years ago, I interned at Mallik's university, where we discovered our mutual affection for each other. We cherished every moment together in Loni, so much so that when it was time for me to return to the USA, we discussed pursuing a long-distance relationship. After three wonderful years of courtship, Mallik surprised me during an early morning hike to World’s End while we were on vacation in Sri Lanka. He got down on one knee to propose, and I said yes!
