Tell us a bit about your journey. What inspired you to become a DJ?
I embarked on my musical journey in 2007 at the Willingdon Sports Club, one of South Bombay’s oldest and most prestigious clubs. My fascination with rock and retro music quickly grew into a deep passion. It was while exploring the DJ culture that I stumbled upon a biopic of DJ Armin Van Buuren, which ignited my desire to pursue a career as a DJ.
How would you describe your vibe/style of music? Who or what has been your biggest artistic influence?
Music is constantly evolving, and I believe the best DJs embrace a wide range of genres to create unique and tailored experiences for every event. While I love playing Bollywood music at weddings because it energizes the crowd, I also have a strong affinity for House music and enjoy doing live mashups during my sets. I admire DJ James Hype for his genre-blending creativity, and I often incorporate some of his edits into my performances.

Tell us about some of the challenges you faced when you first started. How did they help you evolve as an artist?
Breaking into the DJ scene wasn’t easy, especially without any prior connections. However, through perseverance, hard work, and a bit of divine intervention, I gradually built my expertise. My residency at Willingdon Sports Club was instrumental in shaping my career, providing the foundation for everything I’ve achieved since. I also received invaluable support and guidance from fellow DJs, particularly DJ Rohit Pawar.

The first step involves understanding the event's theme, ambiance, and the client’s musical preferences. My team and I draw inspiration from the client's references, current trends, and their personal tastes to create a playlist that resonates with the occasion. We also remix favorite tracks or curate special theme songs to add a personal touch to each wedding. For weddings with multiple functions, we ensure each playlist reflects a distinct genre and mood to keep the experience fresh and exciting. The entertainment industry has given me incredible opportunities to perform for some of the biggest names in the country, for which I am deeply grateful. DJing for Karan Johar was a highlight—his party was the most extravagant Bollywood event I’ve ever played at, and the appreciation I received from him and others was surreal. Recently, I performed at Kunal Rawal and Arpita Mehta’s wedding at the Taj, and I’m set to DJ at Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s wedding in October. These experiences have boosted my confidence and fueled my passion to continue striving for excellence.

Tell us about your most memorable wedding experience.
While every wedding has its own special memories, the one that stands out was in Lake Como. Performing in a breathtaking villa with the lake as a backdrop was truly unforgettable. Traveling the world and experiencing such incredible locations and celebrations is one of the things I love most about my job.
