After their spectacular wedding celebrations, Dipti and Yogi headed to the Nordic paradise of Iceland to fulfill a lifelong dream! They began their journey together with a breathtaking post-wedding photoshoot, set against Iceland’s glaciers, volcanoes, and black sand beaches.
How We Met
The best moments in life often arrive when you least expect them. I first met Yogi at my workplace farewell party in Bangalore. Our interaction was brief, but we immediately connected over our shared interests. After I moved back home, we began a long-distance relationship, and eventually, I returned to him. The rest, as they say, is history!

I am Maharashtrian, and Yogi is Tamilian, so we expected a few challenges, but we were determined to make it work. After overcoming some hurdles, his mom loved me from the very beginning, and the only challenge left was for him to win over my father. After a year of drama, we finally had our ‘ja-Simran-ja’ moment and were married in February this year.

The Post-Wedding Shoot Planning in Iceland
Being a nature and travel enthusiast, I’ve always had a list of dream destinations for my honeymoon. Iceland, with its striking landscapes, black sand beaches, geysers, and active volcanoes, was always at the top. Yogi suggested we do a post-wedding shoot in Iceland, and after a month of researching photographers, obtaining quotes, and finalizing our itinerary, we chose Iceland-based photographer Odinn Yngvason. His dreamy style won us over. We coordinated our ideas via email and decided to dedicate one day of our 10-day Iceland trip to the shoot.
The Post-Wedding Shoot in Iceland
Iceland is often referred to as the land of fire and ice, and with its stunning natural beauty, it seemed impossible to stick to one theme for the shoot. However, we opted for western attire. Yogi decided on a charcoal grey suit, inspired by the grey and black volcanic soil of Iceland, while I chose a wedding gown, something I hadn’t been able to include in our Indian wedding. I hired a stylist through our photographer’s help to bring my vision to life.

Visiting Iceland in winter posed its own challenges, with only 5-6 hours of daylight and unpredictable weather. Most of our shoot took place in sub-zero temperatures and strong winds. But despite the harsh conditions, it was a day full of adventure and love, leaving us with unforgettable memories.
