From The Bride

On January 20, 2024, we celebrated our union with a carefully curated destination wedding that beautifully blended our Indian heritage with regal elegance. Orchestrating this event from the US posed significant challenges, requiring 11 months of meticulous planning to bring our vision to life. Each event was thoughtfully themed, from the floral-inspired Mehendi in a botanical garden featuring Mediterranean cuisine, to the dazzling Sangeet with its neon aesthetics, floating luminous balloon shots, molecular mixology, and a surprise Squid Game character appearance.

Our culinary offerings, including live pizza, taco, and hot chocolate stations, were a resounding success. The Haldi ceremony embraced bohemian vibes, while our "Enchanted Forest" themed wedding, adorned in ivory and green, provided a stunning backdrop for our pastel-attired guests. Personal touches abounded, from wedding bells at the pheras to a Polaroid guestbook and surprise table centerpieces chronicling our journey together. The varmala ceremony, set to perfect music and punctuated by a shower of rose petals and cold pyrotechnics, created an unforgettable, magical moment that continues to captivate us.
My wedding attire for each event was carefully chosen, each piece telling its own unique tale. The Shagan ceremony saw me in a Pakistani-inspired purple sharara, complemented by a paasa adorning my wavy locks. For the engagement, I stunned in a shimmering mermaid-style lehenga by Surbhi Chopra, which drew numerous accolades. The Mehendi celebration featured a bespoke Papa Don't Preach three-piece sharara in soft pastel hues, paired with a bohemian bun and subtle rosy makeup for a distinctive look.

The quest for my bridal lehenga was an odyssey in itself. I explored a myriad of boutiques, from Aza Fashion to Rianta, trying on creations by iconic designers like Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, and Falguni Shane Peacock. After much contemplation, I narrowed my choices to ivory lehengas by Falguni Shane Peacock and Seema Gujral. Ultimately, I was captivated by Seema Gujral's Kirandori threadwork lehenga, adorned with sparkling beads, pearls, and a plunging neckline that perfectly balanced elegance and contemporary style. To personalize the ensemble, I chose a kundan and polki gold set with green beads, creating a striking contrast against the ivory. The look was completed with a custom head dupatta, embellished with Swarovski crystals and embroidery featuring our names and wedding date.
