Meet the Mastermind Sister Behind the Wedding -A Wedding Planner’s Perspective
Khushboo and Prashad’s wedding was filled with unforgettable moments, making it difficult to pick just one to highlight. However, a standout feature was how the bride’s sister, Charu, took charge of planning the entire celebration and its stunning aesthetics. From meticulously designing the décor for every event to selecting outfits and jewelry, Charu relied on her deep understanding of her sister’s refined taste and her own sense of style to create beautiful ensembles and settings.
Charu shares her journey: “Khushboo and Prashad met through a dating app and immediately hit it off. While it was love at first sight for him, her feelings developed gradually. They got engaged about a year ago and celebrated their grand Indian wedding in Delhi on November 25th. I personally designed several of her outfits, ensuring each one reflected her unique taste. Since my sister is quite selective, there was a lot of customization involved in both her clothes and jewelry. I wanted to make sure that being away from home wouldn’t affect how she looked or felt on these monumental days.”
Mehndi and Sangeet Styling -Bold, Playful & Wedding Planner Approved

“For the Mehndi and Sangeet, I wanted bold colors for both Khushboo and Jiju. We chose blue and gold to complement the poolside decor. Khushboo envisioned a lehenga with no border and gold floral embroidery, but nothing in the stores matched her vision. So, I took it upon myself to design one, sourcing raw silk from Asiana Couture. I paired her blue lehenga with a gold off-shoulder blouse, allowing her to wear statement jewelry. I worked with Suhana Jewelers to create a custom necklace and earrings set that took three months to perfect.
For my own outfit, I opted for a neutral lehenga with light gold embroidery, paired with a pastel pink peplum blouse. I completed my look with a large Victorian-style maang tikka in pink and diamonds.”

“For the Haldi, my sister wasn’t sure what to wear since her clothes would get soiled during the ceremony. I was clear on one thing: I wanted golden gota flower jewelry for her, which we picked up from a small shop in Chandni Chowk. We also got some Sangeet favors and found her bright yellow kurta and white palazzo pants for the event at Lajpat Nagar.”

Wedding Ceremony Look -A Pastel Dream Designed by a Wedding Planner
“The wedding ceremony was all about pastels. After months of visiting over 30 stores, we went back to Asiana Couture for Khushboo’s wedding attire. We had the luxury of time for customizations, choosing a pastel pink lehenga and blouse with antique gold work, paired with a pastel mint green dupatta. Her head veil matched her lehenga, featuring intricate booti work in gold.

We designed her jewelry to complement the ensemble-a kundan choker and a paanch lada necklace with emeralds and pearls, inspired by Sabyasachi. The set was completed with jhumkas, a nath, and a large kundan maang tikka. Instead of bangles, we chose kadas for a more refined look.

For myself, I went for bold colors, wearing a colorful embroidered lehenga with a coral blouse. I designed my own jewelry, with the highlight being a customized Pakistani-style jhoomar from Suhana jewels.”

Reception Styling -Contemporary Glam with Wedding Planner Precision
“For the reception, I researched online and visited stores to find a gown that complemented Jiju’s navy blue suit. We chose a wine red Nitya Bajaj gown with velvet and lace details, which was ordered through FaceTime while Khushboo was in the US. Thankfully, it fit perfectly when she tried it on after returning. Diamond jewelry, including a choker and matching earrings, completed her contemporary look.

I opted for a black pompom fabric with charcoal grey embroidery for my own outfit, pairing it with diamond earrings featuring an emerald centerpiece and a matching hand harness.”
