Our Celebrity Guest Blogger, Dr. Rekha Sheth, the esteemed Cosmetic Dermatologist, shared valuable advice for brides-to-be back in 2013.
She recommended starting your skincare and diet regimen at least two weeks before the big day. Hydration is key—boost your intake of coconut water and green tea, and make sure to eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, with a minimum of four servings daily. Managing stress is also crucial, as it can lead to water retention. Dr. Sheth advised avoiding white carbohydrates after 5:00 pm and increasing your protein intake for better skin health.
For your evening routine, she suggested splashing hot water on your face and using a mild skin-lightening face wash. Gently rub the lather for 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Follow this with a night cream rich in antioxidants like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Niacinamide, CoQ10, green tea, resveratrol, and pomegranate, which are soothing and effective for brightening the skin.

In the mornings, Dr. Sheth recommended applying the same antioxidant cream followed by a strong sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or more. Don’t forget to care for your neck, décolletage, and back as well. Gently scrub these areas with a soft sponge while bathing and apply a body lotion containing antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) for smoother, healthier skin.

Beauty extends beyond just the face. Dr. Sheth emphasized the importance of caring for your hands and feet by opting for microdermabrasion or a gentle peel. A paraffin manicure and pedicure can also brighten the skin. Lastly, she advised having your hair deep-conditioned one or two days before your wedding for the best results.
